Feast of Saint Francis

4th October 19

Today marks the Feast of Saint Francis, who guides us on our school mission.

The girls have been learning more about Saint Francis in their class liturgies. Our Juniors have taken home a little prayer card from CAFOD of the Prayer to St. Francis and a copy of a special edition of ‘The Wednesday Word’, which explores this week’s gospel and ‘The Little Way Week’. It is inspired by the life of St. Thérèse of Lisieux – the girls enjoying learning about on her feast day (1st October), which focuses on the impact of doing little acts of kindness for others. this teaching supports Pope Francis’ Extraordinary Month of Mission for October.

‘Little things done out of love are those that delight the heart of Christ.’ St. Thérèse of Lisieux
