On Tuesday our new Faith Leaders attended a wonderful ‘Beginning of the Year’ Mass at St George’s Cathedral in Southwark. The Mass was led by The Most Rev. John Wilson Archbishop of Southwark – his first with the diocese since his installation.
As 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of Verbum Domini (The Word of the Lord), this year will focus on the Bible and ‘The God Who Speaks’. To commemorate this significant year, twenty Deanery candles were blessed during the Beginning of the Year Mass, which will be sent into school communities as a reminder that ‘the Word of God is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path’ (Psalm 119:105).
We look forward to one of the Deanery candles visiting our school later this year, to help us celebrate, live and share God’s Word.
