Tucking into a ‘French Breakfast’

15th February 19

Our annual French Breakfast is always a highlight of the spring term, and this year’s was no exception. Dressed in the colours of the French flag to celebrate the occasion, our reception and year 6 girls enjoyed a wonderful feast.

Upon arrival, our guests were treated to the French national anthem and some French café music. With reception spending time with their year 6 ‘big girls’, everybody had chance to catch up as they enjoyed a range of French delicacies including croissants, pain au chocolat, jus d’orange, et chocolat chaud. C’était fantastique!

Following breakfast, our younger girls performed a French sing-a-long beautifully – even some parents got involved! Both year 6 classes later collaborated in the excellent performance of ‘La Chenille Qui Fait Des Trous (de Eric Carle). Every word was in French, demonstrating the girls’ improving linguistic skills, as well as their ability to entertain their audience!

Thanks to the beautiful sunshine, wonderfully high-energy atmosphere and delicious food, parents and children alike left the annual French Breakfast with smiles on their faces, ready to enjoy the rest of their day!

Thank you to everybody who was involved. After such a wonderful success, we can’t wait for next year! Keep practicing your French, girls – Au Bientôt!
