On Thursday, Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed meeting Florence Nightingale. Miss Nightingale entertained the classes with stories from her childhood, her adventures in Scutari and her inspirational life after her return from the Crimean War. The girls enjoyed dressing up as one of Florence’s nurses and looking at the selection of real and replica objects which Florence had brought with her. This type of ‘living’ history makes a real impact on the girls’ learning as the topic was brought to life and made real for them.
