Year 2 pupils step back in time

Mrs Ruth, Y2P teacher writes,

"On Wednesday 22nd February the Rainbow Theatre Company came to work with our girls and deliver a re-enactment of the Great Fire of London - this is our History topic in class. After lunch we changed out of our school uniform and got dressed up in clothes that made us feel more like the people living in Tudor London. Samuel Pepys came to visit us first. He introduced us to his maid Jane, King Charles andsome of the people that lived near them in London at that time.

We re-enacted the Great Fire of London on the 2ndSeptember 1666. We became the people of London at that time. Some of us died from fever and cholera but most of us helped put out the fire in the burning wooden houses.

The afternoon was very successful and great fun! We enjoyed learning more about the Great Fire of London and it really brought history alive and made our topic exciting and one to remember!"
