Music News

On Thursday 16th November at the start of Assembly, one of our violinists in Y5 played a piece from her Grade 5 exam choices. It was very neat and expressive playing.  She has reached this high level of playing, and achieved this impressive grade by persevering and practising regularly every day. Well done! Let’s hope her playing has inspired many of our girls to persevere with their instrument.

Mrs Petersons was delighted to share the news she received regarding two former Holy Cross pupils who are proving to be young, talented musicians. They are now in Year 12 at their senior schools and had auditioned and have been accepted into the National Youth Wind Orchestra. They both started to play the French Horn after the Year 3 Class Brass initiative in school run by Mr Stott. Our current Year 3’s have a chance to emulate this success once they begin their Class Brass learning journey after Christmas.
