Leavers Mass

Our final act of worship has been our ‘Leavers Mass’ in which we say ‘goodbye and good luck’ to our wonderful Holy Cross girls in class Y6 and Y6P; some of whom have been with us for seven years from the tender age of 4 in Reception. It has been wonderful seeing this group of girls grow academically, personally and spiritually into the accomplished, confident mature young ladies they are today ready to step out towards an exciting future.

The Mass was reflective and prayerful as we thanked God for all the good we have here At Holy Cross. A few tears threatened to leak out of eyes, from staff, girls and parents, sat in a packed Coombe Ridge Hall, but smiles soon surfaced. The girls read beautifully and sang their hearts out, a verse in the final hymn held particular resonance and is worth repeating here as it echoed Father Michael’s message to us all in his homily,

“Give me courage when the world is rough,

Keep me loving when the world is tough.

Leap and sing in all I do,

Keep me travelling along with you.”

Wishing all our families a restful, safe, happy and blessed holiday.
