Sunday Times Prep School of the Year 2013-14

The First Night...

Everyone has suffered from ‘first night nerves’ whether starting nursery, school or a new job and for our Year 5 and 6 Christmas production we saw these emotions portrayed as the central theme in their re-telling of the Nativity story. We were introduced to the poor son of an innkeeper who was going out on the hills around Bethlehem as a shepherd for the first time…and little did he know what was in store for him that night!

It was a delightful production and handled with great aplomb by our young actors in Year 5 – well done girls! The Year 6 classes provided the sensational choral singing which set the tone beautifully and really put us in a festive mood. The girls were confident in delivering their lines and had worked hard to memorise them; it may be ‘only a Christmas Nativity’ but in terms of what the girls gain and learn from the experience it is vital. Once again Mrs Petersons’ and Miss Scarlett’s dedication in class working with the girls over the last few weeks of this half term was paramount; fabulous, thank you to all involved!
