Sunday Times Prep School of the Year 2013-14

'ello, 'ello, 'ello...

We were all on our best behaviour this morning when we heard we would be joined by two police officers in Assembly... PC Dan and PC Ian came in to talk to us generally about what their job entails and how they promote British values in society. Whilst we might think that something as ideologically sounding as 'British values' does not apply to primary age school children, by teaching them from day one respect, tolerance, kindness and compassion for each other, they are not far from these important values at all. We all have to abide by our school rules which are set for the benefit of all in school in much the same way as well all live by a set of rules and regulations in our daily lives.

PC Dan was dressed in his formal uniform complete with traditional helmet whilst PC Ian presented the face of the 'bobby on the beat' - a more common sight with walkie-talkie radio in hand, flat cap and protective vest. The girls were enthused by the talk and asked a lot of questions; perhaps we have some future law-enforcers amongst us...?
