Fashion, the planet and a message from Pope Francis

19th March 19

Before you throw away your old clothes, why not see if there’s a chance to give your once-loved outfits a new lease of life? That’s the message our year 6s were promoting last week during the ‘upstyle restyle instyle’ fashion show.

In support of Pope Francis’s ‘Laudato Si’, year 6 responded to this important call to ‘care for our common environment’ by encouraging a healthy attitude towards recycling, including the clothes we wear.

Each pupil helped to design and create a brand new ensemble, snipping, unpicking and stitching their way to the catwalk (with a little help from parents!).

The fashion show also provided an opportunity to fundraise for the girls’ current chosen charity, ‘Children with Cancer UK’, with all pupils donating £1 to attend.

A fantastic event for a very worthy cause.
