What a marvellous Macmillan Coffee Morning we had today!
The annual Macmillan Coffee Morning is a big occasion on the Holy Cross Prep calendar… each year, our dining hall is transformed into an aromatic café, with hundreds of multi-coloured cakes and cookies spread out over Macmillan-green tablecloths. The hall is decorated with bundles of bright green balloons and strings of bunting, and there are piles of raffle prizes awaiting their new homes.
Sadly, this year we have not been able to host our usual in-house event, however, we have found an exciting new way to raise money, while putting a smile on our parents’ faces! Today, we hosted a special drive-thru coffee morning… As the girls gathered their bags and headed into school, the mums and dads drove to the official ‘coffee station’ to collect their hot drinks (via the car window!).
Later in the day, we enjoyed scrumptious homemade cupcakes from Chef and the Holroyd Howe team, as well as some beautiful bakes from our staff.
A huge thank you to the whole Holy Cross community for their generous donations and continued support for Macmillan – we hope you enjoyed your takeaway hot drinks on this chilly, autumnal morning.
