We are delighted here at Holy Cross to offer our girls a broad and rich education which extends beyond the school day in their normal classrooms. We have many extra-curricular clubs on offer, some provided by our own staff, some facilitated by external provision, which cover a wide range of interests and activities from ballet, yoga and Quiz Club, as well as swimming, baking, art and language. These are all active alongside daily sporting clubs run by our PE department. With so much on offer it can be difficult to narrow choices down and prioritise activities, as well as balance them with any outside family commitments and homework demands.
During lunchtime there are also clubs and activities available which your daughter may want to join in with from Book and Chess Clubs, to Choir and Orchestra and other musical groups. Our lunchtime and after school clubs may incur a charge and commitment is expected upon signing up to make the most of the planned program offered each week, throughout the term.
We are also in a position to offer ‘wraparound care’ which includes a Breakfast Club, a Tea Club and Homework Club at either ends of the school day to facilitate early morning drop off and / or later pick up.
Year 2 children will now be joining Tea Club which is a fun, craft based, free-play active session. Homework Club will be the domain of our Junior girls looking to complete some of their study under guided teacher supervision in the Library. Tea Club runs from 3 – 5.30pm. and is split into 2 sessions with the latter one including a visit to the Dining Hall where the girls can choose a light tea to eat. Homework Club operates from 3:45 until 6pm. During which the girls are offered a fruit snack. All the wraparound care is bookable in advance and on an ‘ad hoc’ basis allowing for changing family circumstances.
