Mrs Hair and the year 6 pupils delivered the annual school report to our junior parents; from victories in sport to marvels in music, there were lots of exciting achievements to discuss. 8th July 2019

Last Wednesday seven separate coaches set out to seven different destinations for seven very different school trips – The British Wildlife Centre, Bocketts Farm and Sea Life Brighton to name a few!  Each fun-filled outing was packed with adventure, from learning about the environment at London Wetland Centre to meeting giraffes at Whipsnade Zoo!  …

Sports Day in the Sun

We enjoyed wonderful weather on our annual Sports Day. The morning began with our Junior girls sprinting, throwing and leaping their way across the new all-weather pitch. No amount of rain could stop the annual Friends of Holy Cross Dads’ & Daughters’ Camp Night from going ahead. With brollies in hand and wellies on feet, our intrepid campers took to the field to set up for the night.  From ‘Last Man Standing’ and giant Jenga to archery and crazy golf, there was…

Mystery at Magpie Manor

14th June 2019

A crumbling manor house, a charm of magpies and a missing family heirloom… sounds like a recipe for a rather intriguing mystery!   From the glamourous flapper dresses to the incredible handmade sets (including a staircase!), the audience was transported back in time to the ‘roaring’ 1920s. Incredible performances (and Charleston dancing!) from our year…

A Visit from Vanessa Cervantes

3rd June 2019

A big thank you to children’s author, Vanessa Cervantes, for visiting our Pre-Prep classes. Our reception girls heard all about The Can-Do Caterpillar, who longs to be able to fly, and our years 1 and 2 girls learned all about the importance of bees from The Unbusy Bee. Educational and inspiring!

Fantastique Fun in France

Accompanied by Madame Humberston and ‘Team France’, year 6 enjoyed a fun-filled week of activities during their trip, from mosaic making workshops and market visits to catching up with pen pals.   Practising their French language skills at every opportunity, it was a fantastic way for our girls to experience French culture in a beautiful…

A Merry Day of Maypole Dancing

29th May 2019

A real favourite on the Holy Cross Prep calendar, our annual Maypole dance and poetry recital never disappoints.  After the reception girls (and their parents!) finished their special Maypole performance, it was back to the classrooms to tuck into a tasty afternoon tea. A delightful afternoon for all involved!
