An explosive start to the day!
Staff and pupils alike were entertained and educated in Assembly on Monday morning when we had a visitor from a company promoting learning in Science. We were very lucky to have Vanessa Hartmann from the 'Mother Nature Science Club' in to speak to us. This company runs after school Science Clubs and demonstrates how seemingly complex scientific principles such as forces and vibration, can be understood through every-day, fun experiments; hence the exploding custard! This 'kitchen chemistry' drew an appreciative gasp from the audience as you can imagine. We witnessed a little Reception girl encased in the biggest bubble we had ever seen and heard a plastic cup and a bucket make very distinctive animal noises. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and left the Hall ready to attack their Science lessons that day with renewed vigour and interest.
