Teaching Sisters
"The minds of children are the soil in which we plant the seeds of the future..... and to teach is to be the sower."
The Holy Cross Preparatory School is owned by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, an international teaching order founded in Switzerland in 1844 by Father Theodosius and Mother Bernarda Heimgarter.
Mother Bernarda was the first teaching Sister of Menzingen. She began the work she left as an inheritance to her successors – to develop the whole person through education.
In the joyful spirit of Saint Francis and by being a sign of hope and channels of reconciliation and peace, the Sisters offer the world life, hope and meaning. The education of young children requires cooperation between the school, the parents and the child.
We believe that spiritual growth and academic success are achieved by stimulating children's natural inquisitiveness, by giving them the necessary education, care, security and support. In order to motivate and encourage the children, our fully qualified staff provide a happy environment with many stimulating activities and teaching methods, using the grounds, a wide variety of books and equipment and fully integrating ICT across the whole curriculum and age range.
