U10 Hockey Success

Mrs Withers is justifiably proud of her U10 hockey players, read on to find out why...

"The U10 A and B teams played in the London In 2 Hockey competition on Tuesday.  The A team competed in the Cup rounds and the B team played in the plate.  Holy Cross were the only school to enter an A and B team showing the depth and ability of our girls.

The Bs played 5 matches winning two and narrowly losing 3.  This placed them 4th an incredible achievement as they were playing against A teams from other schools.  Well done girls.

The A team won their round robin event without conceding a goal and faced Wimbledon in the Semi-finals.  In a great show of team work the girls scored and despite Wimbledon playing an attacking game they could not break down our defence.  The girls had made the finals.   Here they played a very strong Thomas’s Clapham team and although the match was close it was Thomas’s who managed to score.  Holy Cross came home with Silver medals.  Well played girls".
