Sunday Times Prep School of the Year 2013-14

We brightened up the school today with a multi-coloured flash of socks and tights on the girls to recognise how we can brighten up each other’s lives with love, care, compassion and sharing. We are enormously thankful for the bulging CAFOD donation envelopes that have come back into school as a sign of parental generosity and support; thank you. The envelopes formed part of our Harvest Mass which was prepared and led by Y6.

The Mass was celebrated by Father Michael around the altar bedecked with vine leaves, seasonal vegetables and freshly baked loaves which filled the Hall with their rich bready aroma – thank you Chef for your hard work creating this for us all to enjoy and share. After our worship, the loaves were broken and distributed amongst staff, pupils and parents in a symbolic act that reflected the gospel story of the miracle of the loaves and fishes.

In our daily lives we are blessed with an abundance of food and should always remember those less fortunate than ourselves, and to be thankful to those who provide for us both in school at lunchtime and at home.

Sharing the Harvest.
