Macmillan Coffee Morning

Green bows on bunches and plaited ribbons in hair, spotty socks, beady brooches and bling-bling sequin bracelets were all worn with great green pride in honour of our Macmillan fundraising coffee morning today. Despite the slightly damp start to the day, nothing could dampen our spirits when faced with the prospect of cake at break-time for girls and staff alike. The tables were laden with all manner of goodies – all for a very worthwhile, good cause too! It was lovely to see the Hall full and buzzing with conversation between class group mummys, returning staff and parents and even some ex-girls before their University courses start this weekend; this event really typifies the community spirit in our school and marks out Holy Cross as very special indeed. A huge thank you as always to Maureen and her valiant team in green – a fabulous bunch of parents whose daughters have long left the school, but whose hearts remain firmly entrenched within our school walls – and the kitchen staff for keeping the kettle topped up and the coffee brewing freshly.

Macmillan coffee and cake enjoyed by all.

A very big ‘Thank You’ to all our parents who supported by attending, helping and donating the many sweet treats that we all enjoyed – some real ‘star bake show-stoppers’ amongst them. Do remember to collect any Tupperware boxes, stands or plates on the drive after school and bring any spare change for the remaining treats that will be sold off at the gates. Watch this space for an update on our grand total…
