Pond Dipping Fun!

On Tuesday 9th May Y2 and Y2P went on a trip to The Stockyard at Bushy Park to find out more about the animals and plants that live in the pond habitat. We had previously explored the woodland habitat at school and found lots of amazing mini beasts. The pond habitat was equally exciting and we discovered a wide variety of pond life from nymphs (mayfly, dragonfly and damselfly) to water boatmen, pond snails, leeches, and water beetles; one group even found a little fish! The girls learnt a rhyme to help them learn how the animals are able to live in the pond habitat:

Adaptation is a feature that a creature needs to live in its habitat!

What have you found girls?!
