Netball Final Triumph!

After a very busy netball season the Spring term finished on another winning note as Ms Williams reports back on the U10 fixture.

"On Saturday 21st March, the U10A netball team stormed out to St. George's Weybridge with great determination. Following our warm up, our first match was against Rydes Hill; we won the toss and chose first centre pass. We fought hard through out the game managing to get the ball down to our shooters whose accurate work resulted in a very pleasing 5-2 win. Our next match was against Thomas' Battersea, with another win 6-1. Royal Russell was next, which was a tough match as the ball did not seem to reach us, but we did not give up and the final score ended with a 1-0 win to Holy Cross. The Study, our local rivals, were next but we scraped a narrow 4-3 win; this delighted us the most as we knew it would be one of our toughest matches. We came first in our pool and made it into the semi-finals.

The playoff match was against St Hillary's which we won 4-3 securing our place in the finals - playing The Study again. The pressure was on and although we made some good interceptions and played very hard, they came back stronger this time and sadly we lost 5-2. Following the games all players were treated to a yummy post-match tea of sausages and chips, during which the presentations were made. We were runners up and proudly carried home our shiny silver medals. Excellent play from everyone, well done the squad!".
